In order to change the world you must first be willing to change yourself
Study Abroad can leave you wanting to create more impact in the world. You’re exposed to different cultures, languages, perspectives, and ways of doing things. The lens through which you perceive things and the story you tell about the world can shift. You may feel called to do something much greater than you thought possible before.
Mahatma Gandhi said, “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” How you show up matters. No great leader ever created huge impact on the world without first seeking to understand himself/herself. Self-awareness is key.
So use Study Abroad to get to know yourself better. Who are you? What do you stand for? What’s your vision, values, and goals? How have these changed since studying abroad? Be willing to ask yourself life’s big questions and also be willing to make changes.
You get to be whoever you want while abroad. Practice ‘being the change’ and you will undoubtedly transform your world.
